Are you interested in a custom, one-of-a-kind weaving of your favorite place or memory? If so, please keep reading to learn more about custom weavings and the commission process.

• Every four to six months, I will open up my commissions to take on a few new custom orders, working with clients to create a unique, woven landscape.
• There are 5 sizes that clients can choose from, ranging from 10.5” x 13” to 27” x 30”.
• Pricing for custom pieces begins at $523 (size and cost breakdowns below).

Commission process: 

• When commission spots become available, I will send an announcement to my email subscribers (as well as posting on social media) to let folks know when they will be available.
  • Custom weaving spots will be listed on my website under the ‘Commissions → Order a Custom Weaving’ dropdown menu button, or under ‘Current Available Work’.
• To secure a commission spot, the client will purchase a $200 non-refundable deposit. I will email the client a Google form and pricing sheet that will help narrow down their concept, and then sketch a few designs and pull fibers. We will fine tune details over email until the client is happy with the design and fiber selections for the piece.
• Before I begin working on the piece, I will send the client a quote for the estimated total price based on what we’ve discussed. After the quote has been approved, I will send them an invoice for half of the estimated final cost. 
  • Please keep in mind that because no two customs take the same amount of time to complete, I cannot guarantee an exact final price at the outset. If a custom is taking significantly longer than expected, I will check in with the client before continuing beyond the original estimate.
• After the weaving is finished and the client is happy, I will collect the final invoice and then ship the weaving to its destination.

Please note: Commissioned pieces can take anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks to complete, once weaving begins, and I will check in with the client a few times during the process.

*Please note: The price ranges above are based on the average time it takes me to create a weaving in each size. And because every piece is woven by hand and no two commissions are alike, I can't guarantee an exact final price at the start. I track my hours as I work, and the final cost reflects the actual time required to complete the custom weaving. If a commission is taking significantly longer than expected, I'll check in with the client before continuing beyond the original estimate.

A note about the weaving sizes above: for Small and Medium sized pieces, if you would prefer a more landscape oriented piece (more wide than tall), that is an option, and the dimensions for the Small & Medium sizes above would be reversed. However, for Large sized pieces, the only option is a portrait oriented piece, with the dimensions above. The X-Large loom is adjustable, so please note that the 3/4 size is landscape orientation, and the full size is more square.

Other important things to note:

• The $200 deposit to secure the custom spot will be put towards the final cost of the commissioned weaving.
• Please be prompt with email communication so that I can get started on your commission as soon as possible. The initial email correspondence regarding the design of the custom piece should not exceed 30 days.
• Custom weavings will never be replicated, and are completely one-of-a-kind.
